Description

Banda Tepeuani was formed in 1977. The group consists of five musicians whose style has developed over the years while performing at various political and artistic gatherings all over El Salvador. The word "Banda" describes the traditional ensemble, which with flute and drum, enlivens the national gatherings. "Tepeuani" comes from the Nahuatl and means "winner of the battle." Most of the music performed is written by the group based on the various musical traditions in El Salvador and Central America.

La Banda Tepeuani fue conformada en 1977. El grupo lo integran cinco músicos cuyos estilos se han desarrollado a lo largo de años de experiencia tocando en varias reuniones de índole política y artística alrededor de El Salvador. La palabra "Banda" denota la agrupación tradicional, que con flauta y percusión, anima las fiestas nacionales. "Tepeuani" viene del nahuatl y significa "ganador de la batalla." El grupo compone la mayoría de la música que interpreta a partir de tradiciones musicales de El Salvador y de América Central.
