Description
Ciacca plays with a rare blend of earthiness, fire and intellect, with elements of Thelonious Monk, Wynton Kelly, Red Garland and Bobby Timmons that recall the most creatively vital and yet oddly neglected schools of jazz. Nowadays "Director of Programming for Jazz" at the Lincoln Center, Ciacca continues serving Jazz music as a player whose sound is unique, especially in the context of our time. The story of jazz, embedded in American soul and having blossomed in the imagination of a young pianist from Italy, is here for all to hear.

Driemoty is the first album of Antonio Ciacca, released in 1996, at the beginning of his brilliant career as jazz pianist and composer. The album contains six original compositions, including Bob's Groove, Bubo, Martina's Dance, Mattia, The Fox and Driemoty. With softly and sinuous Driemoty, Antonio shows his arranger skills and gives Mediterranean taste to the songs, cleverly maintained by his close-knit Italo-slovak Trio.
